AlbanyCanCode: Javascript Fundamentals 12-Week Course

Prepare yourself for the world of web applications. This course teaches the fundamentals of JavaScript, building a solid foundation to stand on before learning front-end web frameworks like React, Redux, Vue.js and Angular. Students will begin with the basics of programming and common JavaScript “gotchas” like shallow cloning vs deep cloning and this keyword. They will learn how to solve algorithms with concepts such as callbacks, closures, high order functions and recursion. Following that, they will explore how to make applications come alive in the browser, how to communicate with a remote server, and finally, how to organize their code.

This course meets two nights per week, three hours per session, for twelve weeks. Software developers from local firms will visit the class to provide an employer contact and student mentorship.
