Spend the day on the Rondout Creek learning woodworking at the Hudson River Maritime Museum Wooden Boat School. Instructor Wayne Ford will lead a 1-day build of a live edge table. Each student will get to pick a flitch of locally harvested and kiln dried hard wood. Participants will use draw knives, sanders and other hand tools to remove any bark and smooth the live edge. The piece will then be cut to its final dimensions and planed and smoothed. Finally, a set of legs will be attached. Each student will leave with their own coffee table ready to have the finish of their choice applied. Please register by May 9.
