Name: UCSPCA: Artists for Animals
Date: April 1, 2017
Time: 11:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDT
Event Description:
The Ulster County SPCA now presents: Artists for Animals! This new project will merge the animal community with the growing art community in the Hudson Valley. We will be working closely with local artists, allowing them to display their work around the shelter for one month. All artwork will be up for sale, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to the shelter! Our first Opening Reception Potluck will take place on Thursday April 6th from 6-7pm. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a vegetarian dish! The potluck will be located at the shelter: 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston NY 12401.

Kicking it off Saturday April 1st, we will be hosting local Saugerties artist, Wendi Piper! Wendi is an avid Volunteer Dog Walker for our shelter. She works primarily in pastels, depicting both the beauty and serenity of the Hudson Valley as well as a love and appreciation of animals. She has a special soft spot for rescues. Her work is a combination of realism and expression and is done quickly to capture the energy and emotion of the moment. Commissioned work is always welcomed as well.
