The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter recently hired Tina Eckert to oversee the Dutchess/Ulster and Putnam Walks to End Alzheimer’s, scheduled for Oct. 20 on the Walkway Over the Hudson starting at the Highland entrance and Oct. 21 at Putnam Veterans Memorial Park in Carmel.

“We’re thrilled to have Tina as a part of our team,” said Michele Muir, Vice President of Marketing and Development for the Hudson Valley Chapter, “Her depth of experience is a huge asset for our organization, and we know she’ll do great things in her new role.”

Eckert comes from a 33-year career with the American Cancer Society, Hudson Valley Region, where she held a variety of roles including Director of Special Events/Community Development Manager, Special Events Coordinator and Crusade Coordinator. In these roles, she oversaw the planning of diverse fundraising events, recruiting sponsors and volunteers, as well as managing logistics and budgets.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Alzheimer’s Association,” Eckert said. “My father passed from Alzheimer's in 1985. I am very dedicated to making a difference in his honor.”
