Central Hudson CEO Ulster Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Guest

Central Hudson President Michael Mosher will update business leaders on the latest developments regarding energy issues that could impact them at the upcoming Holiday Breakfast Meeting of the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members and the community at large are invited to attend the event, which will include the singing of Holiday Carols by members of the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice Youth Chorale. The meeting starts at 7:30am, Tuesday, December 19th at the Kingston Best Western Plus.
 

“The state of New York has been at the forefront of efforts to evolve the way that customers manage their energy usage through its far-reaching ‘Reforming the Energy Vision,’ or REV, proceeding,” Mosher said.
 

He explained that the state’s purpose is to help consumers make more informed energy choices and to develop new energy products and services, while at the same time protecting the environment. “We are already seeing the impacts of REV in our service territory, with more than 8,000 distributed generation installations, primarily solar, either in service or planned,” Mosher said. Ulster County has more than 2,000 such photovoltaic systems.
 

Mosher cited Central Hudson’s assistance to two Kingston-area businesses, Ryan Insurance Brokers and a division of HeritagEnergy, as an example in installing the first Community Distributed Generation solar facility in the utility’s eight-county service territory and one of the first in the state. 

Mosher says that Central Hudson is committed to remaining the same involved and dedicated corporate citizen that it has been since its founding in 1900. “We recognize that our relationships in the community are the foundation of our success. We’re excited about a future that affords us the opportunity to enhance and expand those relationships,” Mosher said.
 

Mosher joined Central Hudson as a Junior Engineer in 1985. In 2003, he became Central Hudson’s Manager of Corporate Services. He was appointed Central Hudson's Assistant Vice President of Regulatory Affairs in 2005 and promoted to its Vice President of Regulatory Affairs the next year. Mosher became the 10th President of Central Hudson since its incorporation in 1927 when he was named President and CEO on April 1, 2016.
