Members of the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce and guests will have an opportunity to learn about plans to redevelop the former Uptown Kingston Parking Garage site into a mixed-use hotel/apartment complex at the November 16th monthly breakfast meeting. The event will be held at the Wiltwyck Golf Club from 7:15 to 9:00am. The breakfast sponsor is Kimlin Energy Services.

The breakfast speakers will be Josephs Bonura Jr. of JM Development Group in New Windsor, Patrick Page of Page Properties in Newburgh and Brad Jordan, owner of the Herzog Supply Co. in the Kingston Plaza.
The project, known as The Kingstonian, would be built on the site of the former parking garage and an adjacent warehouse—once the original Kingstonian Hotel--belonging to Herzog’s. The end result would be a new 420-car parking garage, 129 apartments, a 32-room boutique hotel and 8,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, which may house restaurants, small retail shops and maybe even a bank tenant along North Front Street and the new pedestrian plaza.

“I am honored to be involved in such a worthwhile project that will create a community centerpiece in the Stockade District,” Jordan said. “Uptown will see an economic boom with the addition of more than 250 residents and hotel guests who will be active consumers in this area, ensuring the economic vitality of Ulster County’s most important commercial base.”

Bonura agreed and said the Kingstonian will be the perfect complement to Uptown. “I think it’s a transformative project for Uptown that will help the area not only continue the revitalization that is already taking place, but help catapult it to its full potential,” he said.

Bonura’s family, which owns Bonura Hospitality Group, has been in business for more than 50 years and owns and operates some of the Hudson Valley’s premier venues, including The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, The Grandview, Anthony’s Pier 9, West Hills country club, Blu Pointe, Shadows on the Hudson and Water Club Luxury Living.
Chamber President Ward Todd said the morning will also feature the Chamber’s first “Breakfast Meets Mixer” program, providing business leaders an opportunity to network and make important business connections in a mixer-like setting.

Chamber breakfast programs are a great way to network with other local business leaders and stay on top of current events. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For more information or to register, call the Chamber at (845) 338-5100 or go online at www.ulsterchamber.org.
