St. Patrick’s Breakfast March 17
The Peter B. Mathews St. Patrick’s Day breakfast, hosted by the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be held Friday, March 17 at the Best Western Plus from 7:30-9 a.m.
Entertainment will include the Kingston Lions Club Roarin’ Pride Band, the Kingston Ancient Order of Hibernian Pipes and Drums, Alessandra Bailey from the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice and the Coleman Catholic School Choir.
All in attendance will be gifted with a green carnation, compliments of J & A Roofing.
Now in its 48th year, the breakfast has been modified in recent years. In the past, only the non-Irish were considered for the title of “Honorary Irish Person,” but since 2014 when Chamber President Ward Todd picked Sister Mary Feehan, who is Irish, he’s bent the longstanding practice.
These days, anyone in the jam-packed room is game for the highly coveted title of Honorary Irish Person of the Year or Irish Person of the Year.
One thing that has not changed over time is the requirement that the recipient be a generous soul, one who gives back selflessly to making the community better.
Advance registration is a must and payment for this breakfast must be made at the time of reservation. The cost is $25 per person for Chamber members and $35 for non-members.
For more information, call the Chamber office at (845) 338-5100. Reservations can be made and paid online by going to the Chamber’s website at www.ulsterchamber.org.
For those who miss the breakfast, watch for photos on the Chamber’s website and Facebook page shortly after the event.
Chamber breakfast programs are a great way to network with other local business leaders and stay on top of current events. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For more information or to register, call the Chamber at (845) 338-5100 or go online at www.UlsterChamber.org.
